Protect you and your family from a tornado's tragic happening.  Here's how:

*Pick a place where your family and friends can gather in case a tornado is headed your way.  Either the basement or a center hallway if you live in a high rise building.  Whatever it is let it be in the lowest part of your house.

*Watch your local weather station to be informed of the severity and path of the disaster especially to know if the tornado is headed your way.

*Don't go outside.  If you're in the car go in a safe place like a basement.

*Stay away from windows and open areas.

*Prepare a disaster kit and keep it in a easy to reach area.

Your disaster kit should contain:

* First aid kit and essential medications.

* Canned food and can opener.

*Three gallons of water per person.

*Protective clothing, bedding, or sleeping bags.

*Battery powered radio, flashlights, and extra batteries.

After the tornado you should:

* Watch for fallen power lines and stay out of the damaged area.

*Don't use candles at any time.

*Inspect your home for damage.

*Listen to the radio for more information.
